Questions:
ANSWERS
- Why can't I lose weight having only one meal a day and actively exercising too?
To lose weight safely and successfully requires energy that comes from the metabolic breakdown of the foods you eat. The solution to your problem hinges on 2 fronts:
- you must provide your body with foods and necessary supplements that will supply all the nutrients assimilated at the cell level to balance your disturbed body chemistry, and
- you also need a knowledgeable therapist to correct your obviously disturbed metabolism.
- Why must I eat breakfast when I am not hungry?
Breakfast should be the most important and heaviest meal of the day to equip your body with the energy to make it function effectively and productively as the day is long. You must change your eating pattern of eating your heavy meal at dinner to make you hunger for breakfast as soon as you wake up ready to meet the days challenges.
- Why do I need more than one bowel movement daily?
People who move their bowels more than once a day are healthier than
those who move their bowels only once a day. Healthy people habitually
eat their 3 healthy meals regularly and with a normally functioning digestive
system, the bowels should move as often as they are filled up pushing
out the previous' days toxic byproducts of metabolism.
- Why do I retain water?
It could be anyone of the following or a combination of reasons:
- Have you been negligent about drinking your minimum of 6-8oz glasses
of water daily,
- You could have an electrolyte imbalance,
- You could have a heart, kidney or endocrine problem, or
- You could have hypoproteinemia.
- What can I do to stop taking my Lipitor, my Metropolol, my Prevacid,
my Vioxx?
You certainly can do a lot of things to give you the freedom of not being fearful in stopping your drugs which are only supposed to alleviate your symptoms giving you a temporary sense of security. And while they do give you that deceptive and false sense of security, they invariably give you side effects at the same time that the unaddressed underlying cause of your symptoms progress inexorably with their unwanted ramifications sooner or later. For every symptom for which a drug is prescribed, there is a solution the nutraceutical way. Science has finally caught up with what Paracelsus, the father of modern pharmacology, has said: "Nature
has provided everything the body needs for health and healing"
- Why does my husband snore?
Because of the lack of the synchronous action of the nerves and muscles that are responsible for the maintenance and integrity of your naso-pharyngeal passages.
- What can I do or need for my hair loss, my brittle nails or
skin blemishes?
From my point of view and experience I have a stock answer to these questions. You need to find out what are your nutritional deficiencies so that you can start supplying them mindful of the fact that hair loss is an expression of a very stressful life style in the susceptible individual by virtue of a genetic predisposition; skin blemishes are the body's attempt to get rid of toxicities that ideally should get out from the kidneys, the skin being a second kidney.
- Why do I have excessive gas?
It only means that your digestive system is not functioning normally starting from your stomach's lack of an acidic medium to breakdown the proteins in your food down to your pancreas that is not functioning normally as well.
- What can I do to control my blood pressure without taking the
drugs and their side effect?
If you have what we doctors call 'Essential Hypertension' meaning we do not know the cause of your high blood pressure, it is just a matter of knowing how to keep your blood sugar level stable instead of having wild swings causing your blood pressure to go up while your blood sugar is on its downward swing. For a starter you must have a substantial nourishing breakfast of proteins with fat such as eggs that has all the essential amino acids, some form of meat or cheese along with your fruit and favorite beverage. Think of the saying: Eat like a king for breakfast, like a prince for lunch and like a pauper for dinner. For long standing uncontrolled high blood pressure, you need to consult with a practitioner who is knowledgeable about correcting your disturbed metabolism and your endocrine imbalance.
- Is there a better way to have my cholesterol down to healthy levels other than drugs?
You certainly have the option to do something different that can change your attitude to your ultimate benefit. It was 30 years ago that I discovered with amazement what I am about to share with you. When a patient who was very conscientious following his doctors' advice about staying away from eggs with his cholesterol levels still elevated, I advised him to do the opposite not knowing what else to offer him as a solution. To my surprise and his joy, his follow up test a month later showed his cholesterol levels down to normal after which he confessed that he was eating 4 eggs daily which he loved. This discovery has changed my way of thinking since validated by other experiences and further study.
This is what I learned:that when an individual does not supply his/her body's requirement of cholesterol rich foods as a source of energy, as a source of hormones and as a source for the normal functioning of the brain and nerves, the liver mobilizes its compensatory mechanisms manufacturing cholesterol from internal sources accounting for 65% of the circulating cholesterol while only 35% is attributable to the cholesterol derived from foods consumed.
- Why do I have panic attacks?
I can only suggest that you consult with a holistic practitioner whose main focus is to have your body chemistry balanced to correct your disturbed metabolism.
- Is there anything I can do about my varicose veins other than having repeated surgery?
Cosmetically, you need a surgical procedure to erase those worm-like structures in your lower extremities but it should not stop there otherwise they will surely recur. By rebuilding the muscle mass that used to support your veins, which involves a sophisticated nutritional approach both orally and by injection, you can be proud of your body again.
- What do you think about mammography? How about colonoscopy?
It is a procedure that I never subjected myself to and I am close to approaching my 80th birthday. That tells you that the prevention I believe and practice is in learning to be aware of the hazards in our environment and in our daily living and doing all I can to protect myself against them while fortifying my immune system. Mammography and colonoscopy to me are for those who refuse to admit that they have the control to avoid or prevent what these unpleasant diagnostic procedures will show or eventually reveal if this is the only preventive measure they believe in. To quote a former staff member of Sloan Kettering Institute for Cancer Research, he was very outspoken stating that regular breast examinations and mammography have not extended the life of women. As far as Colonoscopy goes, I am of the conviction that problems of the intestinal tract are compensatory responses of the body in trying to correct a metabolic imbalance arising from repeated and unrecognized mistakes of daily living. Colonoscopy as a preventive tool is not the answer for the above explanation and its only justification is when there is a clinical ndication that an invasive procedure is imminent.
- Is there help for me for my psoriasis?
I had a patient whose psoriasis suddenly was gone in a few months when I put her on glyconutritional, phytoestrogens and other antioxidants for reasons other than her psoriasis. I have a current patient whose presenting complaint is directly related to her severe psoriasis and she is responding very well not only because of her psoriasis but more important are its complications.
- Can you give me possible reasons for my sleeping problems other than emotional causes?
I found out that insomnia can be caused by anemia, by lack of calcium, estrogen deficiency or people with an adrenal gland that is in the stage of adaptation or approaching the stage of exhaustion.
- Why does my heart beat irregularly?
Irregular heartbeat. If it happens only occasionally, it could be that your heart is the weak spot in your body that is manifesting its rejection of something you have consumed. If it occurs too often, it is a sign that you have a heart condition such as arteriosclerosis that involves the ciculatory system.
- Do you have success with chronic fatigue syndrome?
I have seen a lot of patients 30 years ago who came with a lot of symptoms including unexplained chronic fatigue. That was at the time when the diagnosis of chronic fatigue syndrome was still unborn. I know that those patients recovered and got back to the mainstream of society except one who I met only 10 years ago. This is a patient who thinks that she is now in a position to handle her health problems just because she had been to clinics and doctors all over the USA including Mexico in search for better health 20 years before she consulted with me.
- Do I have to put up with the ringing of my ears?
Not really. I suggest you start rebuilding your liver concurrently with your adrenal gland because experience tells me that ringing of the ears could be a symptom of hypoglycemia. Auriculotherapy should be of help too.
- Can I bring my son who has sarcoidosis?
I would be very happy to take care of your son as I did for a lady with the same diagnosis. This lady came to me on public assistance because of extreme weakness and pain due to spinal stenosis as a result of her sarcoidosis with a left lung that was useless or a liability and 3 previous surgical removals of kidney stones. She had been a regular patient at a nearby major hospital for many years. After her second visit, she felt strong enough wanting to go to "Taste of Chicago Festivities" and after her 3rd visit, she was anxious to find a job. After a year of taking advantage of the services at THI, she declared that she no longer needs my services.
- What can you recommend for my arthritis?
Sounds simple but true. First, you have to go through a liver and intestinal detoxification program followed by a nutritional program that will replenish your body's depleted reserves, balance your body chemistry and metabolism all at the same time. We can hasten the process by employing THI's state of the art equipment.
- What does Acidity & Alkalinity mean?
The pH (acidity) of our bodies is important. The body maintains slightly alkaline pH of about 7.4 (pH 7.0 is neutral). Since waste products tend to be acid, we need sources of alkalinity. To help this, you should avoid eating too many acid-producing foods and favor alkaline-producing foods. It is not the acid in the food that matters (e.g., citrus foods are acid), but what they lead to in the body (citrus foods are alkaline-producing). Small amounts of bicarbonate (NaHCO3 or, better, KHCO3), just under 5 grams, daily reduce acidity and can increase rate of bone formation, but it can also interfere with digestion so adjusting diet is probably better.
- Consequences of acidity: The body will use calcium from bones and break down muscle tissue to achieve the desired pH.
- Signs of high acidity: fatigue, out of breath easily, muscle pain/cramping easily
- Some people are too alkaline, but this is quite rare.

- Does our lifestyle diet matter
a lot?
YES, tremendously. It is difficult or impossible to obtain adequate nutrition from a diet high in energy-dense, nutrition-poor foods such as:
- visible fats: butter, margarine, oils, dressings, gravies;
- sweeteners: sugar, syrup, honey, candy, sweetened beverages;
- desserts: cookies, cake, pastries, ice cream, pudding;
- salty snacks: potato chips, corn chips;
- miscellaneous: alcohol, coffee, tea;
however, the average American in 2000 got about 1/3 of his calories from
such "junk" food.
