Virgin Coconut
Oil
The Potent Healing Oil
What is VIRGIN COCONUT OIL?
VIRGIN COCONUT OIL (VCO) is also known as "White Coconut Oil." It
is extracted through first cold pressing of fresh and mature shredded coconut
meat.
It absolutely does not undergo any hydrogenation or any heating process, it
is unrefined, unbleached and has not undergone any deodorizing process.
Virgin Coconut Oil therefore retains the purest composition of the
coconut's Lauric Acid content of up to 51%. It is thick, sweet tasting and
retained the fresh aroma of coconut milk.
Why is VCO called "THE POTENT HEALING OIL"?
VCO is the most healthy and versatile of all vegetable oils. It is composed
primarily of medium chain fatty acids (MCFA) or triglycerides. MCFA are
quickly digested and is transformed immediately by the body as energy. This
also means that VCO does not produce fat and cholesterol. Saturated fats
found in VCO are actually good and promotes health.
VCO has antimicrobial properties. Its high lauric acid content makes it a
natural antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal substance. It is also found
to be very stable so it does not oxidize easily. As a result, Vitamins A, C
and E, which strengthen the body's immune system, are not depleted. Vitamin E
in the oil also helps make the hair and skin smooth.
Lauric acid (fat called monolaurin when ingested), which is found in VCO,
is only available naturally from mothers' milk, nature's perfect food. This
medium chain fatty acid helps improve in the nutrient absorption and
digestion functions of the body. They also help in regulating blood sugar
lever and more importantly, protect the body from harmful microorganisms.
Positive clinical trials on the use of this for the treatment of herpes,
hepatitis, HIV, cancer and currently SARS have shown remarkable promises.
